Building a “Fan Life” revenue ecosystem, FANKLUB attracted thousands of users monthly during trial operations, opening a new growth curve for the group.
Starting now, closer to the ones you love.
KKBOX, the world’s first legal music streaming service under KKCompany Technologies—Asia’s leading AI multimedia technology group—is celebrating its 20th anniversary with the official launch of “FANKLUB,” an all-new fan engagement platform designed to offer a seamless, one-stop fan experience through five highlighted services. FANKLUB leverages KKBOX’s 20-year legacy of over 100 billion streaming data points, a tens-of-millions-strong member base, and deep music industry resources to integrate three core elements: “music streaming × artist interaction × fan support.” FANKLUB is projected to reach over 100,000 users in the coming year, converting more than 10,000 users into paid “Super Fans” and injecting fresh momentum into the Group’s annual performance. This initiative marks a major business transformation for KKBOX into “Streaming 2.0” and serves as a strategic milestone for KKCompany Technologies in unlocking new growth within the rapidly expanding fandom economy.
Michael Yeh, General Manager of KKBOX at KKCompany Technologies, stated: “KKBOX has always been dedicated to fostering diverse connections between users and artists. In the past, features like ‘Listen Together’ and the ‘KKBOX Music Awards’ connected fans with great music, transforming streaming from a one-way delivery service into a two-way bridge. The launch of FANKLUB meets fans’ desire for deeper participation while turning fandom economy into a sustainable business model. This evolves KKBOX into a comprehensive ecosystem combining data, fan engagement and support, upgrading the industry’s data landscape and opening a new chapter of growth.”

Nearly one-third of fans spend over 10% of monthly income on idols;
FANKLUB taps into next-gen fandom economy
According to market research firm Future Market Insights (FMI), the global fan engagement market is growing at a CAGR of 18% and is projected to exceed US$37.8 billion by 2035. The music industry is shifting toward “Streaming 2.0,” placing fans at the center of development. A survey of 1,120 fan followers conducted by KKBOX revealed that 32% are willing to spend over 10% of their monthly income supporting artists, with 3.8% spending over NT$10,000 per month. Fans under 24 demonstrated the highest engagement, investing both money and time in fan activities. The “fandom economy” has clearly become the next-generation growth engine for the music industry.
Since last year, KKBOX has launched several highly acclaimed “Super Fan Projects,” generating over 27 million streams through exclusive listening tasks, collectible cards, and support campaigns. Building on this success, KKBOX has integrated its user insights and industry resources to launch FANKLUB, a systematic platform built around deep fan participation. By combining music, interaction, and monetization, FANKLUB sets off a sustainable “fandom economic flywheel.” Michael Yeh added: “In an era of information overload and fragmented attention, managing fan relationships is the critical next step for the industry. FANKLUB is not just a product feature; it is a turning point bringing the music industry into a new era of interactive, two-way engagement.”
FANKLUB’s unveils five core highlights, satisfying desires for “Exclusivity, Priority, and Intimacy”
In recent years, with the booming fandom economy, users’ demand for entertainment platforms has shifted from simple content consumption to more in-depth personalized interaction and participation. International research indicates that 92% of fans desire closer connections with artists, 85% feel closer through Q&A or personalized messages, and 78% value exclusive behind-the-scenes content. Embracing the concept of “Fan Life,” FANKLUB creates a high-engagement, multi-revenue business model with five core features designed to meet fan needs and generate diverse revenue streams for the company:
- Subscription membership unlocks exclusive content
FANKLUB brings together the Top 5 fans’ preferred star-chasing interaction forms. Users can upgrade to “Super Fans” to access exclusive content, private community interactions, early-bird ticket access, and limited-edition merchandise, establishing stable recurring revenue.

- Taiwan’s First Subscription-Based DM Feature, creating highly interactive data and monetization potential
Enables one-on-one private messaging between fans and artists. High-density interactive data enriches user profiles, laying the foundation for future brand cooperation and customized marketing.

- Priority ticket purchasing to concerts and events
According to KKBOX’s latest survey, nearly 40% of fans expressed their desire for fan platform to have a “concert pre-purchase” function. FANKLUB is the only fan platform in Taiwan to introduce “concert and event ticket pre-purchase qualifications”, which will effectively attract high-spending fans to upgrade their membership. - One-stop fan merchandise shop
FANKLUB will also have a mall function to solve the pain points of fans buying peripherals across platforms. It will not only improve the user experience, but also create a new driver of high-efficiency revenue through profit sharing from peripheral product sales, becoming a new opportunity for the group to expand revenue scale and improve profitability in the fanfom economy sector. - Data and audio integration with KKBOX: accurate recommendations and fan loyalty conversion
By connecting KKBOX’s existing user listening behavior and attention preferences, FANKLUB can accurately recommend artists of interest to users in the early stages of use, significantly reducing the user churn rate. Artists can also directly share KKBOX music sources in posts and generate playback graphics. There is also a dedicated section to link recommended playlists. These plays on FANKLUB will be directly linked to the KKBOX chart, turning fan support into commercial value and forming a positive “Fans → Data → Revenue” loop.

Trial operation surpasses 5,000 interactions; Building a high-sticky interactive space
Since its beta launch in early August, FANKLUB surpassed 5,000 users and interactions in its first month, demonstrating its market potential and high user participation. The “Super Fan” membership launched on September 3, offering annual subscriptions ranging from NT$620 to NT$1,600 per artist (real-name verification). Additional features, including subscription DMs (by end of year), e-commerce mall services, live video streaming, and exclusive music livestreams, will roll out through the first half of next year.
General Manager Michael Yeh said: “The launch of FANKLUB is not only an extension of KKBOX’s service content, but also an important next step for the group in the fandom economy. We will continue to strengthen market competitiveness and create long-term corporate value through diversified services and business models.”
FANKLUB’s initial artist lineup features 20 acts, including Golden Melody winner Ricky Hsiao (蕭煌奇), Wayne Huang (黃偉晉), rookie girl group ELL&s, co-ed group B CRUSH, popular cheerleaders (Yang Hsiao Fan, Xiao Zi, Kimi, Chuang Chuang, Linda), and basketball cheerleader group MEME (Xiao Feng, Xiao Ti, Strawberry, Xiao Xiao, An-Ru).
